Research

One of the centre’s key activities is to publish papers on a diverse range of engineering and public policy issues. Not only do papers offer engineers an opportunity to share their expertise and perspectives, they provide a highly valued resource to legislators, policy-makers, academics, students, the engineering profession and other individuals and organizations interested in public policy. Since the beginning of 2011, OCEPP articles have been published in the "Policy Engagement" section of Engineering Dimensions, the bimonthly magazine of Professional Engineers Ontario. For more information, please see the Policy Engagement/Journal page of this site.

Papers published by OCEPP are grouped under one of the following categories.

Education
Energy
Health
Ideas
Infrastructure
Licensing and regulation
Sustainability
Transportation
Waste management
Water

To comment on an article, please submit a letter to the editor. Letters should be no more than 500 words long and may be edited for length, clarity and style.

Other research

The report "Towards the Best Policy Directions for Engineering Regulators," is the culmination of a research project conducted in 2010 for Engineers Canada by OCEPP and the University of Toronto’s Centre for the Legal Profession. The project examined the current engineering association practices in Canadian provinces and territories and made recommendations for a national framework for the regulation of Canada’s engineering profession.
