Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is the provincial association of professional engineers that self- regulates its 59,000 members in the province of Ontario, Canada. Ontario is subdivided into five regions for Council representation, and membership communications. The Northern Region, covers the province north of, and including the Parry Sound District, bounded by Quebec in the east, and Manitoba in the west. This represents over 85% of the province's geographical area, but less than 4% of PEO's membership.

For a sense of community, Regional membership is further divided into 39 Chapters (~8 per region) to deliver educational outreach, technical, and social/sporting events to their membership. Chapters are the link between the association, and its members and the public. A Chapter's primary function is to distribute and discuss information about policies and decisions made with respect to regulation of the engineering profession. It offers a forum for its members to discuss issues of concern for engineers and society.
